Moving On

This is what I do on a rainy evening just a moment before midnight. I add new books to my cart on Amazon. I listen to this perfect little life soundtrack. I write a long overdue post for my poor, forgotten blog.

I've had several sweet inquires about when I was going to blog again. So kind that other people remembered this place even when I forgot. When I first started blogging, I loved coming here to post pretty things, happy things. The task of coming up with content for new posts was so enjoyable, it sent me down trails with lovely images and encouraged me to try new recipes so I could share them here. It was before I was on Pinterest (the dark ages!), and Instagram (dinosaurs roamed the earth!). Blogging here was fun, it gave me a place I needed. But now, it seems I've moved on. And I'm ok with that.

The days are very busy now. I'm working here and there on the new house, making it home. Indie Craft Parade is becoming more and more consuming and fulfilling. I travel with Cory a lot and we watch ridiculous British TV. I plan lots of parties, baby showers, conferences. I cook with friends and we just enjoy being together. Life is good.

I might come back here someday, I might not. For now, it'll be quiet. If you'd like, you can follow me around on the interwebs, I'm always @eringodbey.

Thanks for being here.

The Holiday Fair will be a smaller scale version of our festival, and features 25 artisans from past festivals. This is the perfect opportunity to pick up one-of-a-kind handmade gifts for everyone on your Christmas list. Mark your calendars, it's this Saturday, Dec. 1!

The Makers Summit

We've been working overtime on a new venture for Indie Craft Parade: The Makers Summit!

The Indie Craft Parade mission is to empower the creative community by cultivating a knowledge and respect of handcrafted goods while providing valuable resources to independent artists. We’re always looking for ways to benefit those in our industry, which is the impetus for our very first Makers Summit. It’s a one-day conference focused on art, craft, and design and jam-packed with golden information to either start or grow your small business.

Join us February 2, 2013 to learn collaboratively through panel discussions, one-on-one sessions and keynote speeches from industry experts. Conference tickets are $100 and include breakfast & lunch.

Besides an incredible day of creative business sessions, we’re finishing off the conference with The Best Craft Party Ever!  The Makers Summit Afterparty is a great time to mingle with both peers and experts over dinner, followed by a time of making! The party is separate from the conference and tickets can be purchased for $50.

You guys, this is going to be an amazing experience. If you are wanting to start or grow your business, don't miss this!

Head over to TheMakersSummit.com for all the wonderful details!

Update!

Guess what people, I'm still alive. Kinda.

Here is what has been going on:

A whole lot of this. We've been traveling pretty much the entire month of November.

First I went to Chicago to visit my dear friend Heather and this little darling. I had a wonderful trip and will do another post with lots more photos.

Then it was off to Baltimore for a convention for Cory and a quick visit with his awesome great aunt and uncle, who we adore.

Home for less then 48 hours and then off again, this time to California for another convention.

Then straight on to Florida where we spent Thanksgiving with this lot.

Whew. I may never leave home again.

My new home, that is.

Remember this? Well, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride but we should be closing on our current home by the end of this week and moving into our new place next week. I'm so excited to show you around the new house!

Which means that my house currently looks like this. Oh boy.

I've got 2 more exciting tidbits to share today, so stay tuned!

2012 ICP Recap

What a wonderful whirlwind! I feel like this year was more of a blur than ever before. It was so busy that I didn't take a single photo. Not one. (The photos above are from this Greenville News slideshow.) The 2012 Indie Craft Parade was a huge success, we had over 6,000 attendees and the exhibitors were better than ever. It was wonderful. It was insane. I can't wait for next year.

We'll be posting recaps on the ICP blog soon, but in the meantime, here's my loot:

resin antler wall hooks by juxtaposition / party goods by The Gilded Fete
/ collage necklace by Emily Jeffords / screenprinted fabric tea towels by Chomp Industries

faceted wood necklaces and leather earrings by Spectrum / white enameled necklace by Ashley Buchanan / letterpress card by ink meets paper / hand-lettered cards by Sparrow Nest Script / chevron-lined envelopes by Dodeline Design / wood honeycomb earrings and felted heart by Once Again Sam

For Sale!

I know, I know, my poor neglected blog. Summer is a hard time for blogging. At least I kind of have a good exscuse...

Our house is for sale! I've been working rather frantically to finish projects, touch-up trim, and all those other little things you never get around to until the end. So, not much time for blogging. But, now that I finally have pictures of everything, I can post more before and afters.

Take a look! If you know of anyone who would be interested, please pass it on. All the details and photos galore are here.

We're also having an open house on Sunday.
And in case you're wondering, we're not moving away, we'll be staying in Greenville. When we bought this house, we planned on remodeling and staying here for about 5 years, which we've done. Time to move on to the next project! Mortgage rates are so low right now, it just seemed like a good time. It's kind of crazy. And exciting. Crazy exciting.

Weekend Glimpse

This past weekend we were in Philly for the wedding of Cory's cousin. There was a lot of family fun and non-stop craziness.

Amazing clouds and views from our drive through the Shenandoah Valley.

 Philadelphia buildings.

 Rehearsal dinnering.
The whole weekend was like My Big Fat Italian Wedding.

 The dress.

 The beautiful bride.

 Groomsman.

 Tiny princess.

 The happy couple.

 My sparkle shoes.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend.

We had a spur of the moment BBQ with friends for Memorial Day, and I whipped up these two dishes:

photo from Sweet Paul Magazine, Winter 2011

Sweet Paul's Roasted Fingerling Potatoes with Shallots and Rosemary.
Amazing. Will definitely make again.
The only change I made was to add in a few smashed cloves of garlic.
