Courtney's Wedding, Part 1

My sweet sister-in-law Courtney got married on a beautiful Saturday in October. She had a traditional wedding with rustic and elegant touches. The wedding featured her favorite colors, pink and brown. It was such a lovely day!

The nuptials took place on the stately campus of Furman University. We had a brisk but sunny weather, with excellent light for the photos.

Here's a look at the wedding day!

Wasn't she a gorgeous bride?  Courtney wore a solid lace gown, with delicate pearls and sequins added in for shimmer. We bridesmaids wore chocolate brown satin dresses with velvet sashes, and the men wore classic black tuxes with brown vests and ties.

Cory had the honor of walking his sister down the aisle, which was such a sweet sight. The wedding went off without a hitch, thanks to many frantically scrambling hands who put every little detail in place. And I couldn't be happier for the lovely couple!

Weekend Glimpse

It was a weekend full of nice things.

 Gifted banana bread, consumed immediately.

A brisk walk through downtown and the park.

A Nintendo master and his young protege.

The best girls in the world, and enough nail polish to keep us busy for a while.

Cat naps and clean laundry.

Not pictured:
- a fire in the pit
- strawberry milkshakes
- packages in the mail
- too cold for a bike ride
- lost gloves, found
- calendar filling up
- garden dreaming
- attempts at organization
- movie nights
- flannel sheets

Happy Weekend!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned!
I'll be spending my time pining for Paris, our dear friends across the sea, and snow.

Happy Weekend!

Julia's Wedding, Part 3

This the final post about Julia's chic barn wedding. In case you missed them, check out Part 1 and Part 2.

The groom is a talented wedding photographer, and Julia serves as his assistant, so of course great photos were very important to the couple. They ended up with some beautiful images, especially of the two of them. Such a lovely wedding for a lovey couple!

Julia's Wedding, Part 2

Today I'll be sharing some more photos from Julia's wedding, mainly the food and decor. As I mentioned before, this was a major DIY event, and my mom and I made all the food, including the wedding cakes, and did almost all the decor. Yes, we are crazy.

Annie did the flowers, and they were perfection. She totally captured the vibe with just a few blooms!

Julia was in charge of the guest table, and made a lovely display with photos and vintage props. Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests signed a globe that had been painted matte black.

It all came together for the perfect rustic chic wedding.
