Collections: Balloons

I've noticed balloons making a big comeback recently... seems they're popping up in everything from fashion shoots to weddings. I love the impact they make in a big group!

Weekend Glimpse

How do the weekends fly by so quickly?

New coat. Hot pink + stripey lining!

Our cooking club met, and we made homemade bread and creamy tomato soup. Then we slathered the bread with butter and made the world's most awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. 7 kinds of cheese, 4 meats, and sundried tomatoes. Mmmmmmmmm.

Hemming some pants for the hubs.
You know I only bought that tape measure because it's pale pink.

Not pictured:
- ice cream with raspberry balsamic vinegar. Yes, vinegar.
- painting a little one's nails
- cats, entertaining
- cold!
- glittery pinecones
- vintage dishes
- cheese shopping
- 15 cups of flour
- voting
- furry slippers

Courtney's Wedding, Part 3

My recap of Courtney's wedding concludes with some portrait shots. (See the first post here.)

Paper Star Pictures
did an amazing job with the photography, and I think their portraits are just phenomenal. Here's some of my favorite shots from the wedding!

That wraps up Courtney's wedding recap! Thanks for joining me for another wedding week. As I've married off almost all the people around me, I'm afraid that will be it for a while. ;-D

Courtney's Wedding, Part 2

My recap of Courtney's wedding continues with a look at some of the details. (See the first post here.)

Annie's amazing flowers added the perfect woodsy feel, and she tucked in gold skeleton leaves for a touch of elegance.

The decor included about a million candles, bits of moss, and wood slices. We used these on just about every surface, and they made the whole evening sparkle. There were also crystals woven into grapevine, brown velvet ribbon, pink japanese lanterns, and some Hello Kitty toasting flutes (just for the bride, or course).

The guests were served an amazing meal, followed by an array of sweets: chocolate wedding cake, white groom's cake, cheesecake with berries, a candy buffet, and cotton candy. The wedding cake was modeled after this woodgrain masterpiece, and was as delicious as it was lovely. The cotton candy was a special request of the bride, and it was such a hit! Just about everyone was walking around with a pink fluffy cone. The candy buffet featured different pink and chocolate candies, showcased in glass apothecary jars. Glassine bags and pink labels were on hand for the guests to create their own favors.

You can see some of our inspiration for the wedding on our Pinterest board. Here's how all the little details turned out!

I included the photo of Cory and his little cousin because they were a big part of the day, as they always are. ;-D

Next up, portraits!

Courtney's Wedding, Part 1

My sweet sister-in-law Courtney got married on a beautiful Saturday in October. She had a traditional wedding with rustic and elegant touches. The wedding featured her favorite colors, pink and brown. It was such a lovely day!

The nuptials took place on the stately campus of Furman University. We had a brisk but sunny weather, with excellent light for the photos.

Here's a look at the wedding day!

Wasn't she a gorgeous bride?  Courtney wore a solid lace gown, with delicate pearls and sequins added in for shimmer. We bridesmaids wore chocolate brown satin dresses with velvet sashes, and the men wore classic black tuxes with brown vests and ties.

Cory had the honor of walking his sister down the aisle, which was such a sweet sight. The wedding went off without a hitch, thanks to many frantically scrambling hands who put every little detail in place. And I couldn't be happier for the lovely couple!
