Embellished Onesies

Since my niece, Pearl, was born 3 weeks early, she was too small to fit in any of the clothes her momma had prepared for her. So the day before she came home from the hospital I dashed around trying to find preemie clothes, which are harder to locate than you would think. I was able to pick up a couple of outfits and a pack of plain onesies. Of course I couldn't resist prettying them up a little...

 bright pink yo-yo
 gold ric-rac
silver woodgrain bow
black pom-poms
big floppy grellow flower

All made from scraps of fabric or trims.
I just handstitched them on the onsesie below the collar, quick and simple.

Oh, and a pair of tiny socks with tulle pom-poms.

An in-progress shot.

Making little things for babies is such fun,
I'm sure this won't be the last Pearl receives!
